Fibo reaffirms commitment to sustainability

Fibo ISO 14001 1 002 1 minFibo, manufacturer of waterproof wall panels, announced the achievement of ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management standard at its factory and headquarters in Lyngdal, Norway. The internationally accepted ISO 14001 standard outlines the most effective ways to put a successful environmental management system in place, designed to help organisations identify, manage, monitor and improve their environmental performance, such as through a more efficient use of resources and/or a reduction in waste.

Gunnar Gabrielsen, head of production at Fibo said: “All of us at Fibo are thrilled to now officially be certified as being compliant with the requirements of ISO 14001: 2015 – it’s credit to the hard work and dedication of our teams and colleagues in making this ambition a reality.”

Achieving the ISO 14001 certification is a testament to Fibo’s implementation of sustainable practices, such as reducing its plastic use by 50% since 2018, re-using wood waste to heat buildings and plants on site, and investing in new factory machinery to help improve its energy efficiency. In addition, Fibo’s range of waterproof wall panels are inherently an eco-friendly product, with all the timber either PEFC or FSC certified.
