The Encon Group has announced it has invested in the mental wellbeing of its staff by doubling its team of qualified Mental Health First Aiders from 10 to 21.
The training course was hosted at The Encon Academy in Chorley and delivered by Stress Matters. The session, accredited by MHFA England, enabled attendees to learn key skills such as recognising when people need to talk, encouraging people to seek help through recognised resources, active listening and empathy, and promoting positive conversations around mental health.
Encon HR and HSEQ director, Deborah Gore, said: “We are delighted to expand our group of Mental Health First Aiders, ensuring our teams across the business have access to the support they need, when they need it the most.
“As an “Employer of Choice” it’s important our people know there is someone they can reach out to, and for our qualified aiders to feel confident they can help our teams with the right advice and reassurance. A huge well done to all those who successfully passed the training – we are extremely proud of their achievement and of the employee support we can provide.”
