Hampshire based independent builders merchant Elliotts has won two awards at the National Family Business Awards 2018.
The merchant won the Family Business of the Year award for the South-East region at the ceremony at Wembley Stadium on Saturday July 14, while chairman Stuart Mason-Elliott was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award for his commitment to the building industry and his charitable efforts.

He said: “It’s a great honour to receive the Lifetime Achievement award. As the fifth generation of the Elliotts family, I’m really proud of how our materials and advice have helped build the South Coast.
“Cycling is a huge passion of mine, which is why I founded Challenge Adventure Charities in 1996. Since then we’ve raised over £4 million for numerous charities as well as getting hundreds of people hooked on cycling!”
The builder’s merchant is currently celebrating its 175th anniversary. Sales and Marketing Director Paul Cleary, who received the award for Family Business of the Year, said: “We have been helping Hampshire and Dorset build for the last 175 years and we’re still family owned. Our managing director, Tom Elliott, is the sixth generation to run the business. To be recognised for such a prestigious family accolade is very special.”
Elliotts was also shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to the South Coast Region at the 2018 South Coast Business Awards.
