Dulux Decorator Centre has donated £27,000 to the Outward Bound Trust. The generous figure was raised from sales of paint can openers and paint stirrers across Dulux Decorator Centre stores between August 2020 and July 2021.
The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity where young, disadvantaged people can realise their full potential and develop the attitudes, skills and behaviours they need to make positive changes in their lives.
Dulux Decorator Centre has supported the Outward Bound Trust for 15 years and has raised a total of £104,000 for the charity to date. Dulux Decorator Centre is continuing to raise vital funds for the Outward Bound Trust through sales of paint can openers and paint stirrers through its national network of more than 238 Dulux Decorator Centre stores.
The donation is the latest incentive in Dulux Decorator Centre’s ongoing commitment to support causes that have a positive impact. In 2020, Dulux Decorator Centre marked 125 years of service with a pledge to donate to 125 community organisations that supported the nation during the Covid pandemic.
Lucy Sharma, head of corporate partnerships at the Outward Bound Trust, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this generous donation from Dulux Decorator Centre, one of our long-standing partners. Young people need to be supported now more than ever before, and this contribution will ensure young people can experience real adventure in the wilderness and develop their confidence, tenacity and aspirations for the future.”
Guy Butterworth, managing director of Dulux Decorator Centre, added: “We’re committed to supporting and building lasting relationships with local communities and are proud to play our part in giving back and improving the lives of wider society.
“The Outward Bound Trust is a great cause that is very close to our hearts here at Dulux Decorator Centre, and one that we have been supporting for a number of years now. We hope this latest donation will help the trust in its tireless efforts to support young people going through challenging times and help them unlock their true potential.”
