CWP extends Swedish operation

Continental Wood Products (CWP) has opened a stockyard within its associated sawmill Jarl Timber in Broakulla Sweden.

CWP extends Swedish operation

The company say it is a strategic move to expand its Swede Speed direct trailer service to its customers.

European softwood director Jerry Wilson said: “We now have our own U.K. specification of C24 which runs alongside the mill’s stock list. By combining the two inventories we are able to offer a much larger pick-a-pack choice. The next move is to increase the frequency of shipping to U.K. to every day instead of twice weekly to a point where we can nearly always beat inland deliveries”.

C.E.O. of Jarl Timber Egil Freitag said: “This is a perfect way forward for the mill, we are able to improve production planning and service the U.K. more effectively. Swede Speed has been an effective way to get volumes to customers efficiently and keep the handling and carbon footprint to an absolute minimum.”
