Golly. I thought I was full of doom and gloom about the state of the economy, but then I'm a journalist and we're supposed to have a dark side.

Once upon a time there were three little pigs who decide to make their respective ways in the world and build their own houses.

I don't think I've ever known a run-up to the Budget like it. We've always had leaks and speculation about what will or won't be contained in the Chancellor's battered red briefcase, but this year, it seems there's more hanging on it than before.

Health and Safety. It gets everywhere. Even children's TV programmes. There was a Health and Safety inspection at the racetrack on Roary the Racing Car this morning and, although everyone passed in the end, it was touch and go for some of them.

So we got the boiler scrappage scheme in England. And judging by the rumours circulating around Twitter and the industry, we might be getting something similar for Wales and Scotland. Hurrah. Check out the Reheat Britain website for all the latest details.

Well we managed to bugger that all up quite nicely. Instead of a nice, smooth handover of power with Tory-Boy Cameron gurning for the cameras as he moved into No10 while Gordon Brown packed the tea chests and moved out, we have got ourselves a hung parliament. And all because the electorate had the temerity…

This Connaught stuff. All a bit of a mess really.

This might turn into something of a rant, but bear with me.
