Burdens trading as normal

The 22 branches that Wolseley UK bought from WT Burden on Friday are now trading under their own steam.

Wolseley UK bought the branches and the brand to run as a separate business, known as Burdens and operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of Wolseley.

The branches in question are: Bristol, Exeter, Hirwaun, Plymouth, Llangadog, Thurrock, Cambridge, Cardiff, Warrington, Leeds, Tadley, West Bromwich, St Asaphs, Manchester, Nottingham, Blaydon, Newmains, Glasgow, Inverness, Gatwick, Picketts Lock, Sheffield.

The members of staff that have transferred to the new company include all the employees relating to those branches, plus the regional key accounts staff and the national key accounts team as well as central services.

The interim managing director is Paul Turner.
