UK and Ireland specialist paving and building products company, AG has welcomed seven new recruits to its growing workforce.
Area Sales Manager
AG, has appointed Patrick Boylan as area sales manager in the Republic of Ireland. Boylan will be operating on the East-Side of the Republic of Ireland and will be responsible for managing the sales of paving, facing brick, and retaining walls in this territory. Boylan will mostly be dealing with main contractors, professional pavers, and engineers.
Boylan started his career at AIB Bank where he spent four years working as a Fund Accountant. Following this, Boylan worked in technical sales for 17 years, working for Microstrain (Cubic M3), Toilet Revolution, Soprema, and Prihoda.
Regional Sales Manager
AG, has appointed Brittani Shears as regional sales manager. Shears will be responsible for business-to-business sales and relationships within the Midlands, South West and South Wales regions. Her role will be to engage with contractors, subcontractors and builders’ merchants as well as supporting general merchant/stockist activity and driving retail sales through this sales channel.
Technical Specification Consultant
AG has appointed Kev Jones as technical specification consultant of the Midlands and Northern region. Jones will be responsible for liaising with Architects, Landscape Architects, Engineers, and potential specifiers to assist them with their designs and to gain specifications on all AG product ranges. Jones will also be presenting CPD’s and developing the knowledge of the specifiers and build the AG brand in this sector.
Jones has worked in the construction industry since 1982 in a range of roles with Powrie Smith Architects, Marshalls, Baggeridge Brick, Charcon and Brett Landscaping.
Supply Chain Stock Controller
AG has appointed Steven Curley as supply chain stock controller. Curley will be responsible for maintaining the company’s vast inventory as well as purchasing and auditing. Steven will also manage logistics, reacting quickly and effectively to address any potential issues.
Curley is well equipped for the role having worked in management positions for the past 17 years.
HR Business Partner
AG has appointed Laura Cassells as HR business partner. Cassells will provide a comprehensive HR service which will underpin the achievement of AG’s business objectives, mission, and values across the United Kingdom.
Cassells will also ensure all business operations comply with company policies and procedures as well as employment legislation and recognised HR best practice. Cassells brings with her a wealth of experience having began her HR career in 2007. She acted as HR Manager for TrustFord before moving into the construction industry and taking up a position with JH Turkington & Sons.
HSEQ Manager (Maternity Cover)
AG has appointed Tom Givans as HSEQ manager. Givans will be responsible for the continuous improvement and ongoing management of the robust HSEQ management strategy across the business. He will also play a vital role in developing and delivering the strategic plan which will ensure that health, safety, quality, and the environment are all firmly embedded within the culture of the company and its employees.
Givans previously worked in the FMCG industry, spending over 7 years as Health, Safety and Environment Officer in Irelands largest food factory. He brings with him a wealth of practical experience managing risk and sustainability. Givans also worked in L&D as a training manager where he played a vital role in working closely with all functions across the business. To complement the practical experience, Givans has also completed various CPD accreditations.
Business Development Manager (Roads and Civils Products)
AG has appointed Lawrence Murdock as business development manager (Roads and Civils Products). Murdock will be responsible for increasing sales of AGs Civils concrete drainage products, road kerbs and hydraulically pressed flagstones, manufactured at the company’s Carryduff site. Murdock will also be responsible for achieving the strategic growth targets as well as assisting with the operational development of the sales function of the organisation.
Murdock brings with him over 12 years’ experience in the construction industry having previously worked for business merchants MacBlair and JP Corry.
Head of Retail Sales
AG has appointed Margaret Cunningham as head of retail sales. Cunningham will be responsible for achieving the sales forecasts for the Outside Rooms division and will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the overall sales and marketing strategy for the business.
Cunningham is well equipped for the role having spent 20 years in a construction products environment, bringing with her a wealth of experience. She also spent 13 years at Invest NI working with local, homegrown companies.
Internal Sales & Business Development Manager
AG has appointed Chris Comer as internal sales & business development manager. As well as leading the internal sales support team, Comer will also be responsible for the implementation, management, and development of the company’s CRM system. As part of his role, Comer will be a key figure in identifying and developing new business opportunities in conjunction with the field sales team.
Comer has been with AG for the past 4 years, originally starting his career in reception before transferring to Business Development. Whilst there, Comer made a significant contribution to achieving strategic business growth targets.
