Knauf Insulation has been named Supplier of the Year for the roofing and insulation category, for the third year running at this year’s National Buying Group (NBG) awards.
Knauf Insulation’s commercial manager, John Gaunt, was also presented with the NBG Account Manager of the Year award.
Nick Bulpin and Nick Oates presented the awards to John Gaunt from Knauf Insulation at the annual conference and gala dinner, held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.
Gaunt said: “We are delighted to have won the Supplier of the Year award for the third time in a row; it is testament to all the hard work our sales and merchant support teams do in conjunction with the NBG members to ensure that they have products and solutions that their customers’ require.
“Indeed, we understand the importance of working closely with builders merchants and that’s why we have partnered with the NBG to create long-term joint business objectives, in order to help its members. For example, as well as having started distributing a newsletter to members on a quarterly basis, member and branches receive regular visits from our external sales team, and contact from our merchant support team.
“This is to focus on the jointly agreed business plan, individual stock profiles and how to maintain and grow commodity product volumes, significantly improve Value Added Product (VAP) purchases and much more.
“In addition to this great success, I am absolutely delighted to have won the Account Manager of the Year award – just being nominated was great, but to have actually won the award is brilliant, especially when the other nominees were such strong candidates.
“However, I couldn’t have won it without the excellent external sales and internal support teams we have here at Knauf Insulation – it is vindication of the amount of hard work that has been put in and I appreciate the support from the NBG and its partner members.”
At the NBG Conference, Knauf Insulation also presented its own awards to members in the following categories: Earthwool® OmniFit award, Member Performance award, and the Value Added Product (VAP) Performance award.
