Wolseley to host sustainable self build event

Builders and plumbers merchant group Wolseley UK are hosting a dedicated event for self builders at the Sustainable Building Center in Leamington Spa.

Wolseley to host sustainable self build event

Self Build Saturday will be held on October 25 and will be free for self-builders and those thinking about self-build to see firsthand the range of sustainable products and renewable technologies available to them.

The event, which is likely to be the first in a series, will run from 10am to 4pm and will enable self-builders to gain a great understanding of the latest sustainable products and technologies from the system design and relevant applications, to efficiencies and payback.

Wolseley’s self build account managers will be on hand alongside the SBC team and key suppliers to offer expert advice on the benefits of choosing an eco-friendly self-build project.

Tim Pollard, Wolseley’s head of sustainability, said: “We look forward to welcoming visitors to our first Self Build Saturday, where they can see products in their working environment.

“The SBC is very striking and contemporary, and illustrates that ‘going green’ doesn’t mean self-builders have to compromise on a stylish look and feel of their home.”

Wolseley self build manager Alan Bawden added: “Economic, legislative and environmental drivers are all leading to an increased demand in sustainable products across all sectors of the construction industry including self-builders, who are keen to incorporate new technologies into their home.

“We believe visitors to this event will find it extremely beneficial and informative, especially to be able to see the wide range of sustainable options that are available now – from the foundations to the roof of a building.”
