Travis Perkins Managed Services account manager Amy Neill, is set to race in the Great North Run on September 7 2025 to raise money for The National Autistic Society.
Neill, whose six-year-old son has autism, is running to raise funds for the charity, while helping to raise autism awareness along the way.
Her son was diagnosed 18 months ago and is benefiting from joining the society’s social groups, which provide a relaxing space for children to participate in a variety of activities.
Neill decided to take part in the thirteen-mile race after being inspired by colleagues from Travis Perkins who competed in the race last year.
She said: “Running hasn’t always been my strong point, but I was inspired to join in after seeing my two colleagues take part last year. It looks so welcoming. The work that The National Autistic Society does in raising awareness of autism makes and the money raised by these generous donations will be going to a fantastic charity.”
