Darts enthusiasts from Travis Perkins (TP) Managed Services took part in a tournament at Spot On in Loughborough on November 11 to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK.
The fundraiser saw 64 players face off against each other in a game of 501, before the semi-finals and finals when they battled against each other over the best of three sets.
Participants were surprised by the appearance of darts legend Fallon Sherrock MBE, who also joined the tournament. Sherrock won, but gave the trophy, and cash prize of £50, to runner-up Phil Stretton.
The tournament has so far raised £5.950 for the companies charity partner, with the support of several suppliers including CT1, Celotex, Spax and Bosch.
TP Managed Services customer operations manager at Lewis Shaw, who helped organise the tournament and said: “Everyone’s efforts have really hit the bullseye and we’ve checked out with almost £6,000 in funds for Bowel Cancer UK. Our choice of charity partner was inspired by our colleague Dan Trasler who passed away from Bowel Cancer earlier this year. We hope this tribute to Dan can also benefit others affected by the disease. We want to say a big thank you to all our suppliers and partners who donated and helped us to reach this goal.”
