Roofing merchants facing supply issues according to MRA survey

MRA Reports survey finds four out of five roofing merchants affected by supply issues

A survey taken in March by MRA Reports claimed that just under four in five specialist roofing merchants are experiencing problems with product availability and long lead times.

The latest survey investigated sales expectations, market and business confidence, key product and market trends as part of a new wider report on the UK Roofing market set to be released at the end of April.

according to the report, when asked what problems and issues they had faced recently, roofing merchants surveyed put product availability at the top, and nearly eight out of ten (79%) of specialist roofing merchants said they faced problematic lead times.

Director of MRA Reports, Anna Eriksson, comments: “They also complain about product availability and lead times on popular products, and competition is getting increasingly fierce. But, interestingly, specialist roofing merchants have higher sales expectations and stronger market confidence than general builders’ merchants, who we also surveyed in Q1.

“Specialist roofing merchants had a lot to say about the market. The survey report is packed with insightful comments on where they believe the market is now, where it is going, what is trending and the main challenges they face.”
