An employee of plumbers merchant Plumb Center stunned the world of darts when he dumped 16-time world champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor out of a tournament in Wigan earlier this month.

Jamie Bain, who works at Plumb Center’s Aberdeen branch, pulled off the shock result at the PDPA Players Championship in Wigan on 13 April, winning 6-4 against Taylor who has won 80 major titles during his playing career.
“It was a great feeling,” said Bain. “I don’t get to go head-to-head with a legend like The Power very often, so to win the match was unbelievable.
“I’ve been throwing darts for six years so on paper Taylor should have destroyed me, but I managed to grab the win.
“I just want to concentrate on my game and get better and better, but this was definitely a highlight.”
The semi-professional darts player, who travels around the UK and further afield to take part in competitions, is ranked 120 by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).
