Parkers buys 4 branches

Independent Sussex-based builders merchant Parker Building Supplies has bought four branches from Jewson parent Saint Gobain.

The new Parkers heavyside and timber depots are in Bexhill-on-Sea, Hastings, Faversham and Maidstone.

.

They are three former Build Center branches and one former Jewson

branch each including a main depot, large heavyside yard and timber store.

A full branch refurbishment programme is planned for 2013.

All branches will be rebranded and restocked over this weekend and will be open for business under the Parkers banner from 7.30am on Monday (3rd December).

The sale of the branches is part of the conditions set out by the Office of Fair to avoid the merger of Build Center and Jewson being referred to the Competition Comission.
