Onduline Building Products, a manufacturer of lightweight roofing solutions, has launched a new CPD (Continuing Professional Development) session aimed at supporting building professionals working on heritage and conservation projects.
‘Advanced Roofing Solutions for Heritage: Balancing Preservation & Performance’ is the latest addition to Onduline’s training programme and provides insight into the demands of preserving historic buildings while delivering reliable roofing performance.
With many heritage sites protected by strict planning and conservation requirements, working on these projects often means navigating a wide range of challenges, from meeting listed building obligations to working within the constraints of older structures that may have uneven frameworks, lower pitches or unique design details.
The new CPD, available as an online seminar or face-to-face session, explores how modern sub-roof solutions can help meet these challenges by providing waterproofing that protects the building fabric without compromising on appearance.
Participants will also gain a better understanding of relevant standards, regulations, and best practice approaches when specifying roofing for heritage buildings, ensuring they can deliver projects that preserve historic character while providing modern levels of protection.
Ardit Strica, technical manager at Onduline Building Products, said: “Heritage sites are a vital part of our built environment, but maintaining and restoring them requires specialist knowledge and the right technical solutions. Our new CPD has been developed to give building professionals the confidence to tackle these projects with sensitivity and compliance, while helping to overcome common design and waterproofing challenges.”
