Sovini Trade Supplies is a North West-based builders merchant, which recently opened a 2.4-acre flagship store and distribution centre in Bootle, Merseyside, on top of its three existing regional branches.

Also joining the group is Buildland, a family-owned builders merchant with a branch in Redditch, and one in Coventry.

Over in Wales, Towy Works, a specialist builders merchant based in Carmarthen, is also joining NBG. Towy has been in business since 1795, supplying a wide range of products across South Wales, from its two-floor showroom and builders yard.

Alan Evans, regional operations manager at STS, said: “Joining NBG will support us in achieving our goals as a builders merchant, but also as a socially responsible company.

“Our group structure enables us to reinvest our profits into our communities and with the support of NBG, we will be able to increase our profitability. Having this opportunity will hopefully enable us to invest in social housing projects and the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives we are passionate about. The NBG team has already proved invaluable by helping us prioritise and guiding us through our first few weeks.”

Satty Jutla, director at Buildland said: “It feels amazing to join NBG and we are incredibly excited to start meeting our fellow Partners and Suppliers. The help we can gain from NBG is great, through having access to offers and promotions we will be able to offer our customers even better prices than before. It is also reassuring to know we can share best practice with everyone at the NBG family, it is a very exciting time for our business.”

Malcolm Griffiths, manager at Towy Works said: “Joining the NBG family is a great opportunity for Towy Works and all of us that work at our base in Carmarthen. We are looking forward to benefitting from being an NBG Partner and making the most of great deals to in turn benefit our customers.”

NBG managing director, Nick Oates, said: “We are so proud that despite the challenges of the last year, NBG is continuing to grow and we’re able to welcome another three Partners. One of the best things about NBG is the community spirit, which we saw throughout 2020 and have seen continue this year. To see our community get even bigger is really exciting and I’m sure our existing Partners and Suppliers will join me in welcoming Buildland, Sovini and Towy into the fold.”
