More Wolseley acquisition

Wolseley, have announced the acquisition of two companies in the Passive Fire Protection (PFP) sector of the insulation market.

More Wolseley acquisition

Both PFC Corofil and PFC Surechem, based in Chessington, Surrey will trade as independent units within Wolseley’s insulation business, Encon. They will continue to be led by Julia Guerard, their current managing director.

Wolseley UK director Mark Eburne said: “These companies are leaders in the PFP market, with highly innovative product ranges and unrivalled quality.

“We expect the PFP market to experience a considerable uplift in activity as a result of recent amendments to Building Regulations and from new legal requirements for owners or occupiers of non-domestic property to assess fire risk in their buildings and remedy any defects.

“Encon already trades in the PFP market with a broad range of customers, and this acquisition offers a huge opportunity to expand that involvement and to grow sales. A number of core products manufactured by the companies we have bought are commodity items in common applications throughout construction, and Encon now has the ability to seek volume business, as well as technical sales to specialist contractors.”
