Bart Murphy, operations director of London builders merchant MP Moran is collecting PPE for NHS staff at a north London hospital and he needs donations from merchants and suppliers to help.
“My wife Marisa and I, are on an NHS mission,” he says. “We want to raise vital funds to source appropriate PPE for NHS staff which is currently not getting through to them. The quicker we get funds the quicker we can spend it.
“On Friday we received a plea from a district nurse in Northwood who was in tears after losing a 28 year old nursing colleague to Coronavirus. They have been trying to get missing items of PPE to protect them for weeks and on Monday (March 30) I handed them some of the very products they needed and we are working on more.” MP Morans have donated 100 protective suits, 500 eye protectors and 12,000 pairs of gloves, delivered to Northwick Park Hospital today (April 1).
“We need to get the NHS staff the safety equipment they need. They are running out of scrubs, masks, gloves, eye protection and shoe covers. These are basic essentials, needed NOW to protect the NHS from Corona Virus! Many doctors and nurses are now contracting the virus and this needs to stop! We have all shown our support by clapping now let’s show our support by getting them the essential equipment they need to keep them safe”
So far, the Murphys have distributed:
-100 pairs of protective glasses for Barnet and Royal Free Hospitals
