Sales manager Andy Kilduff said: “The investment in the building and the three new jobs created will exceed £500,000 so it’s a huge step for a company our size, but we are confident that there is a need for a fully inclusive plumbing and heating supplier in this area.”

Milford are a family owned two branch independent builders merchant operating in the Leeds and surrounding areas. Construction of the building at the Cardigan Road depot started in the June 2017, with the first sale being made before closing for Christmas.

Ken Coad said: “It’s another stage in the Milford brand, Milford has an excellent name in the area so we are really working to expand on the brand. Plumbing and heating now and we’re planning to move into painting and decorating and become more retail friendly, there’s a tremendous amount of enthusiasm in the Milford team. We have made a large investment, but it’s the employees that are our biggest asset, they all will help to ensure that this new venture is a great success.

“We are having a full week of suppliers supporting us, we have got some new suppliers that we have brought on board. We are seeing new customers already, and have had a great response to the new product lines that are now in stock.

“Although the current Milford team have great industry experience, we recognised we needed someone with in depth knowledge of the plumbing and heating sector which we found in Brad our new department manager.”

To mark the official opening, for the rest of this week there will be representatives offering special deals along with free food and beverages and prizes.
