Merchant opens eighth branch

Kent Blaxill officially opened their new branch in Braintree last Friday (February 1) with a charity balloon launch.

Merchant opens eighth branch

The new branch on Braintree Trade Centre, Century Drive, is the company’s eighth and will be a specialist decorating and glass centre.

Lady Patricia Newton, chairperson of Braintree District Council opened the site, and said: “This is certainly good news for the people of Braintree and will provide them with greater choice. This is a growing area and I hope Kent Blaxill be doing business here for the next 170 years.”

Kent Blaxill managing director Simon Blaxill said that the opening of a branch in Braintree had become “irresistible”. It was a growing area where the company, which had a 17-year history, already had a good customer base.

“The branch is ideally situated near the A120, and near an international airport. I have no doubt Braintree will go from strength to strength,” he said.

The 400 balloons released by Lady Newton each had a charity ticket attached. Kent Blaxill will make a donation to the Braintree and District Crossroads Young Carers’ charity for every balloon returned, with a prize for the balloon returned from furthest away.
