Leyland, the decorating and DIY specialist, is celebrating up-and-coming tradespeople through its Apprentice of the Year competition.

Leyland is looking for an apprentice in any trade who has excelled in their work over the last year by showing extraordinary commitment to their learning, producing outstanding work or going the extra mile to help a customer.

The winner will receive £2,000 to spend at any of Leyland’s 35 stores, allowing them to stock up on tools and materials to take the next step in their career, as well as a gold-plated trophy.

Martin Hastings, CEO at Leyland, said: “We have already had some super nominations in our Apprentice of the Year competition and we’re keen to hear about more exceptional trainee tradespeople before the closing date. There is a fantastic prize on offer, which will allow the winner to purchase all the tools they need to continue in the trade long past their apprenticeship. There is also a gold-plated trophy to be won, which would look great on any mantlepiece.”

Nomination deadline is June 29.
