Lawsons raises over £50k for Macmillan

Independent builders merchant Lawsons Timber, Building and Fencing Supplies celebrated its 90th year of trading last year, marked by a year of fundraising for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Lawsons raises over £50k for Macmillan

The theme throughout the year was to organise a number of fundraising events in aid of the charity hroughout its network of branches in London and the South East.

The events included:-

  • Darts Tournament

  • Directors’ Leg Waxing (ouch);

  • Moustache Shaving

  • Directors’ Eating Challenge (Don’t even ask!);

  • Charity Golf Day

  • Charity Auctions

  • Charity “Fun Day” at all branches

  • John Lawson in the stocks

    The company was founded by the great grandfather of current chairman Simon Lawson in 1921 and is still family owned today.

    Lawsons managing director Joe Inzani said: “We are absolutely delighted with the final figure raised for Macmillan. We were really well supported by the staff, customers and suppliers alike. The final figure not only exceeded all our expectations but was also was the largest single corporate donation received by Macmillan in the region all year!”
