IoBM launches training portal for merchant staff

The Institute of Builders Merchants (IoBM) has launched an online training portal to help builders merchant staff access the latest training and development resources from its supply partners.
The site hosts links and information on training provided by suppliers across its entire membership.

Resources are already hosted from suppliers such as Fernox, Flexseal, Wood Campus, Coillte Panel Products and ACO Academy,

As well as the ability to advertise product training, other offerings through the IoBM’s supply partnership include branding and links on IoBM’s website, the use of IoBM logo to demonstrate support for the merchant industry, participation in institute events, such as the well-respected Skills Challenge and access to grassroots level research.

Steve Sellick, president of the IoBM, said: “Access to further training and development is vital for the future of the industry as it helps to attract new blood with promise of new skills and career progression, an issue which is all too prevalent as we witness an ageing workforce.
