George Galloway launches new timber depot

The Member of Parliament for Bradford West, cut a ribbon to signal a new era at theThornton Road depot, which has undergone a major investment and upgrading programme.

Since being taken over by managing director Charles Taylor in July last year, Taylor’s Timber Centre has extended its showroom, invested in new equipment, introduced new product lines and services, and enhanced the yard layout, including a new drive-though system to speed up collection. Three new jobs have also been created.

Galloway said firms like Taylor’s Timber Centre deserved help, support and encouragement from both local and central government, as they sought to expand and make an increasing impact on the regional economy.

Taylor said the recent investment was already paying dividends with a noticeable increase in trade from both existing and new customers. “We are now well equipped for future growth,” he said.
