Ex-Blues and Baggies striker and local philanthropist Geoff Horsfield was the special guest for the grand opening launch event of MKM Building Supplies new state-of-the-art Birmingham North branch.
The UK’s largest independent builder’s merchant, celebrating its 84th new branch opening across the UK, invited the football legend to mark the branch officially opening its doors to the trade and general public on Tuesday 1st June.
To kick off the celebrations and highlight MKM’s commitment to the local community, the branch has teamed up with Geoff and pledged its support to The Geoff Horsfield Foundation – a charity that prides itself on providing quality, safe and secure housing accommodation for homeless and vulnerable adults in and around Birmingham.

Open to both the trade and public, MKM Birmingham North is conveniently located on a 1.45 acre site at the Minworth Trade Park in Sutton Coldfield.
Creating 19 new jobs in the area, the branch provides a one-stop-shop for all building products, including heavyside, heating and plumbing, landscaping, roofing, electrical, drainage and civils, insulation and plaster board, workwear and timber, sheet and joinery.
This extensive range of solutions is backed up with MKM’s commitment to providing a friendly, expert and first class service, from estimating services, brick matching and free same day or next day local deliveries.
In addition, the branch also boasts a stunning kitchen, bathroom and flooring showroom. Offering a range of traditional and contemporary solutions to suit all styles and tastes, MKM’s dedicated design consultant is on-hand to help consumers every step of the way, including 3D visualisation and home surveys.
