Scottish Rugby has announced that the “FOSROC Feature XV” team will join the Super Series for the upcoming 2023 FOSROC Super Series Championship.
The FOSROC Future XV were assembled to better prepare Scotland’s young players for the challenges of international U20 rugby, and hopefully this will have a knock on effect in improving performances at Six Nations and World level.
“After the successful involvement of the pro-teams’ sides during the first three rounds of competition in the FOSROC Super Series Sprint, it is fantastic to see our new up-and-coming stars get even more exposure to a higher-level of competitive rugby,” said FOSROC’s chief executive officer, Ian Watt.
The new team will compete against the six existing licensed clubs – Ayrshire Bulls, Boroughmuir Bears, Heriot’s Rugby, Stirling Wolves, South Knights and Watsonians.
Watt also explained that he “hopes this support allows more young players further opportunities to develop their skills, and as a result, springboard them into the professional rugby environment.”
The team will play in a red and black kit to align with the colour themes of FOSROC, the construction solutions company has supported Super Series since 2019 and have supported the FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy since 2018.
