Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
The Encon Group, the UK distributor of building materials, hosted its second Burning Wisdom Fire Protection Showcase, and the first in the Northern region, on July 2 at Encon & Nevill Long North West in Chorley.
The Showcase invited the industry stakeholders to share insights and expertise on fire safety. Attendees included passive fire protection manufacturers, specialist contractors, main contractors and the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP). Seminars focused on pertinent topics in Passive Fire Protection, with the ASFP delivering important updates and guidance relating to The Building Safety Act, the Gateway process and competency.
The Supplier Showcase included displays from leading Passive Fire Protection manufacturers Promat, Rockwool, PFC Corofil, British Gypsum, Dupont, Fermacell, Firefly, Kemwell PFP, Knauf Insulation, Siderise and Visqueen, allowing attendees to network and benefit from their respective areas of expertise.

Most of all it’s fantastic to see our industry stepping up to raise the bar in Passive Fire Protection and for our business to provide an open platform where conversations on an important area for our industry can take place.”
