Fencing manufacturer Charles Ransford & Son Ltd has promoted Chris Offa from sales manager to sales director and his appointment as a director of the company. Offa joined Ransfords in February 2013 and has been instrumental in transforming the company’s sales efforts over that period.
“Our business has enjoyed a sustained period of growth in the last ten years helped in great measure by Chris’s focus on managing the sales effort,” says Alistair Evans, operations director and principal shareholder. “We have further plans to improve efficiency and develop our sales profile and we have no doubt that Chris will make an important contribution in his new role.”
Ransfords process around 85,000 tonnes of logs each year at its facility in Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire which is, in part, powered by an array of over 2000 solar panels installed on the roofs of the mill and ancillary buildings. Around 50,000m3 per annum of sawn timber is produced – the majority of which is derived from the more naturally durable redwoods. Almost £25m has been invested in the facility in recent years.
