CCF awards regional drivers of the year

The ‘Regional Driver of the Year’ awards have been announced and handed out by nationwide distributor of insulation and interior building products, CCF at the Travis Perkins Plc ‘Driver of the Year’ awards ceremony.

Recognised for outstanding driving within the organisation the drivers awarded these titles were: Kevin Bullard, CCF Colchester, Sean Kain, CCF Newcastle, Wayne Blackham, CCF Birmingham, and Noel Flynn from CCF Reading.

The drivers are shortlisted for the awards by the regional operations managers, before a closer evaluation of driving compliance and safety is conducted. This provides each individual with an overarching score of their driving and determines the regional winner. Travis Perkins CCF RESIZED

Additionally, Noel Flynn, from CCF’s Reading branch also won the ‘I Drive Safe’ award from the Specialist Businesses within Travis Perkins Plc including CCF, Keyline, BSS and Benchmarx. This is the second year in a row CCF has taken home the award as a result of obtaining the best driver behaviour scoring, where drivers are measured against certain criteria to ensure safer, greener and more fuel-efficient driving.

The ‘I Drive Safe’ award is based on 12 months’ worth of Driver Behaviour Data that is taken from the organisation’s telematics provider which awards a grading against certain parameters. A couple of the parameters used were green band driving and acceleration/braking style, which encourage more eco-friendly driving styles.

With 350,000 deliveries per year delivered by CCF’s drivers, it is vital that each journey is carried out in the safest way possible, with a conscious effort to reduce environmental impact. Given that CCF operate over 300 vehicles to make these deliveries; small differences in driving behaviours such as these can make a big difference.

Jamie Nolan, head of operational excellence at CCF, commented: “We are immensely proud of all of our drivers therefore, it is wonderful to see them receive recognition for their hard work. Special congratulations go out to the four regional winners from CCF.

“With the organisation being Completely Customer Focused, delivering products safely to our customers is of paramount importance and our employees live and breathe this philosophy. Noel Flynn is the perfect example of this, winning the ‘I Drive Safe’ award.”
