James Burrell  is set to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2027, but this year, the builders merchant has highlighted four long-serving team members due to their combined years of service exceeding the age of the company.

Together, Mark Richardson, Caroline, Michael Fahey, and Chris Abbott have dedicated a total of 151 years to the organisation.

The dedication of these four team members is intended to serve as a reminder of Burrells belief that the foundation of a business is its people.

“As a family-owned, independent company, we place huge value on our people,” said Mark Richardson, managing director at James Burrell.

“Long-serving staff are the backbone of our business. They carry forward our values, support our customers with exceptional knowledge, and help build the culture that sets us apart. Their loyalty is not just appreciated — it’s fundamental to who we are.”

With nearly 150 years of trading experience, the company operates a network of ten branches across the North East and Yorkshire.
