Brick prices to rise 10%

Brick maker Ibstock has informed customers by letter that brick prices will rise by over 10% from this Autumn.

The rise is attributed to the significant supply issues becasue of increased demand as well as manufacturer cost increases and fuel price rises.

Haulage costs have also increased inline with demand and the company said that further rises could not be ruled out.

Ibstock’s latest results showed a pre-tax profit of £39m from a turnover of £202m for the six months to June 30 2021.
