Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
The BMF (Builders Merchant Federation) has appointed Gavin Crane, chief executive of construction charity Band of Builders, as chair of the BMF Ambassador Group.
Crane leads the UK charity dedicated to supporting construction workers and their families through practical projects, financial support and mental health services. Since joining Band of Builders as a volunteer in 2017, he has helped transform it into a national organisation backed by leading industry partners and hundreds of volunteers.
With a background in leadership, community mobilisation and industry engagement, Gavin is committed to strengthening connections across the construction sector and championing the next generation entering the industry, creating opportunities for ambassadors to promote the building materials sector and raises awareness of the career opportunities it offers.
BMF CEO John Newcomb commented: “Gavin’s extensive external connections and deep understanding of the building materials sector and broader construction industry will be invaluable in expanding the reach and impact of our Ambassador Group.”
