Anglo American re-confirm Tarmac sell-off

Anglo American plc, current owner of Tarmac, has announced a number of changes across its businesses to create a more streamlined management structure and divest non-core activities.

The company has already announced plans to sell Tarmac and has now listed a portfolio of other non-core assets, which will now be managed by director Duncan Wanblad as a stand alone business unit.

The company said “divestment of these assets will be undertaken in a manner and on a timetable that will maximise value for Anglo American’s shareholders”.

The plan to sell Tarmac was originally announced in summer 2007, at that time the business was worth an estimated 4.2 million Euros. Anglo American bought Tarmac in 2000.
