The Hunt is on for the UK’s best Apprentices

eAn awards scheme acknowledging the work of heating and plumbing apprentices across the UK has launched.  The ‘Apprentice of the Month’ awards aims to champion the great work apprentices do on a daily basis and encourage young people to be proud of the industry they work in.

Open from June 2018 to apprentices at any stage of their training, the awards will accept entries submitted via the website. Sponsored by Polypipe, Sentinel, Vaillant UK and Wolseley, the judging process to decide each month’s winner will be an equal split between individual judges feedback, and a public vote.  The winning apprentice each month will win prizes provided by the sponsors.

Securing employment after an apprenticeship can be difficult in what is a very competitive sector. The ‘Apprentice of the Month’ awards aims to highlight those apprentices that are excelling at their training in order to provide the recognition they deserve to help them establish a successful career within plumbing and heating.

The awards organisers are encouraging employers and college lecturers – as those that know the apprentices best – to inspire their students to enter in order to highlight their great achievements in their career so far and recognise their passion and dedication, which can often go unrecognised.

The ‘Apprentice of the Month’ was established by the industry famous ‘Heating Installer Awards’ after significant demand from apprentices for a simple awards scheme that acknowledged those still in training.

To enter the awards, plumbing and heating apprentices should visit the ‘Apprentice of the Month’ website and fill out the entry form, where they can also view full terms and conditions.
