Alison Wong, head of communications and sustainability at Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “Having Cancer Research UK as our nominated charity has truly resonated with everyone associated with Selco and that has been a key factor in us being able to raise such an incredible amount of money.

“The charity does fantastic work in carrying out vital research to tackle an illness which touches everyone’s life in some way and we are proud to play our part in supporting that effort.

Earlier in the year, colleagues participated in abseils – including one down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth – completed cycle challenges and a 15 mile walk across London, while the annual Selco Golf Day was hosted at the West Midlands Golf Club.

The fundraising means Selco has donated over £350,000 to Cancer Research UK in the last two years, which will be used to help the charity’s research into the prevention and treatment of cancer through the work of over 4,000 doctors, nurses and scientists.
