Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
German construction chemicals specialist Remmers Group has successfully completed its acquisition of the Rustins Group.
Through this acquisition the group has strengthened its position in the United Kingdom and expanded its business to include new product ranges and distribution channels.
Rustins offers a broad portfolio of wood finishes, speciality paints and cleaners including Rustins, Briwax, Brummer and Lord Sheraton brands.
The aim of the acquisition is to further develop Rustins’ established market position, long standing trade and distribution partnerships, and the complementary product portfolios of both companies.
Dirk Sieverding, CEO of the Remmers Group SE, explains: “We have long been a reliable partner in the UK for specialist floor installers and the industrial timber processing sector. What we were missing was access to DIY enthusiasts, painters and the household retail sector. Rustins has exactly that – a brand established for over a hundred years, a product range and a retail distribution network that do not overlap with our existing UK business but complement it. That is why Rustins is such a good fit for the Remmers Group.”
Following the completion of the transaction, the Rustins Group is now wholly owned by the Remmers Group. The acquisition comprises the purchase of all shares in Rustins Holdings Limited, including the operating company Rustins Limited.
