Leading supplier of high performance pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete products, Supreme Concrete, has appointed Mark Yates as its new Production Director.
Yates brings a wealth of engineering, operations and manufacturing experience to the business from previous roles at Hanson, Saint Gobain and Lafarge Tarmac.
A qualified engineer with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) he has a particular interest in the way organisations can achieve improvements to operational efficiency and productivity by developing and nurturing people. Aligned with this is a strong, personal commitment to safe operations on highly regulated plant.
As such, he will introduce proven methodologies to Supreme Concrete by working with stakeholders at all levels of the business to bring positive change of mindsets and behaviours and operating structures. Health and safety initiatives, training and people engagement are a cornerstone of this focus.
Yates will also oversee an on-going programme of strategic investment at the company’s factories, considering latest technology and the industries’ shift towards the digital agenda.
Commenting on his appointment, Yates said: “I am absolutely delighted to join Supreme Concrete. This is a great business, with a strong foundation to work from and a committed and talented team. My goal is to help grow the business by working closely with our people to help them achieve their full potential. This in turn will catalyse positive organisational change that will deliver step-change improvements to the way we work and the way do business.”
He believes that measurement of people and business performance is key to the success of such initiatives. As such, he will work closely with his team of Factory Managers to deliver effective people coaching, personal development and performance management across the Supreme Group via a balanced suite of key performance indicators and the use of modern manufacturing techniques.
