NBG attracts growing specialist merchant

Rowan logoNational Buying Group (NBG) continues its successful progress in recruiting new merchant partners with leading Scottish Timber specialist Rowan Timber becoming the latest company to join the UK’s premier buying group for independent merchants.
Rowan is a specialist, significant and independently owned merchant supplying timber, sheet and joinery services to tradesmen across Scotland. Established in 1979, Rowan Timber remains a family business head quartered near Airdrie where the company also runs a thriving saw mill. The Rowan branch network has depots in Airdrie, Ayr, Bathgate, Dunfermline and Grangemouth to supply a full range of timber and other building materials to local tradesmen and individuals.
“We are very excited about the opportunity that NBG membership will bring to Rowan,” says MD Nick Higgins. “We believe it will streamline and improve our buying across all of our branches, especially using NBG’s Hub platform. In addition, we will have access to a much wider portfolio of products which will allow is to expand our product offering and improve profitability across a wider range of goods.” But, as for so many NBG partners, membership is not just about the deals, but about the opportunity to network and learn from other like-minded merchants. “I personally am looking forward to being able to associate with other merchants, learn from them and share best practice. In return we hope that Rowan will be able to benefit the group as a whole with our considerable knowledge and experience in timber.”
NBG partners are typically dynamic local businesses with a strong commitment to growth, service, quality and innovation and, as such, Rowan Timber fits perfectly the criteria for NBG membership.
