Shower manufacturer Mira introduced its apprenticeship scheme in 1966 and celebrated the 45th anniversary with a reunion party at the town’s local football club, as more than 300 people have passed through the course.

Among them are the company’s current Operations Director Wayne Walker, one of 58 people still with the firm. Others still with the company include design engineers, quality engineers, support engineers and senior managers.
The current longest serving ex-apprentice Pete Green (NPD Support Services Manager) started in 1969 but one of the original five apprentices John Makuch (Experimental Manager) has only just retired. The reunion was held at Cheltenham Town Football Club, whose main sponsor is Mira.
