
Football fans in will get the chance to meet Former Scotland international Alan McInally at the opening of the new Travis Perkins Glasgow branch on Helen Street, its fourth in the city.
McInally, who played eight times for his country and featured in the 1990 World Cup squad, will cut the ribbon on June 8, the same week that Scotland play their opening match in the 2026 competition in the USA, their first World Cup for almost 30 years.
The branch also contains a Benchmarx Kitchens & Joinery showroom and a Travis Perkins Hire, and will have stock than 25,000 products across timber, bricks and blocks as well as an extensive landscaping, drainage and lintel range.
Liam McIntyre, branch manager of Travis Perkins Helen Street, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Alan McInally here for the opening of our new branch in Glasgow.
“It is such a huge summer of sport with Scotland playing in the World Cup in America and the Commonwealth Games coming our way not long after. Having someone with us on the day who has played in the World Cup for his nation is a fitting way to open our new branch.”
