Lords moves into Maidstone with George Lines branch

Lords, the independent builders merchant group, is to open a new branch for its George Lines, civils materials and construction solutions operation, in Maidstone, Kent in early January 2025.

Located on a 1.4 acre brownfield site within Aylesford Business Park, development of the new George Lines branch is already underway and is on target for being open for trading in January. It  will be the fifth George Lines branch and will provide a comprehensive range of high-quality civil engineering, infrastructure, and construction products to support local contractors, developers, builders and ground workers. Customers in Kent are currently supplied via George Lines’ Heathrow branch, so the location of the new branch will add to the customer experience and reduce transportation times.

Steve Durdant-Hollamby, Chief Operating Officer of Lords Merchanting division, said: “The work undertaken on the opening of this new George Lines branch in Maidstone by Jamie Herd and Rob Mallion has been exceptional, especially given the current challenging market conditions. This expansion into the southeast of England will further drive organic growth in our Merchanting division and positions us well for when the market begins to recover.”
