Hanson diesel theft vans to be destroyed

Two vans used when diesel fuel was stolen from Hanson Brick’s lorries are to be destroyed following a court order.

The theft, in January this year, was discovered by plain-clothed police who followed a Ford Galaxy car onto a lorry park near Hanson‘s Whittlesey premises in the early hours of the morning.

CambsTimes24 reports that there were two men in the car, along with 19 containers full of diesel. One of the men claimed to have bought the diesel from gypsies.

Another lorry was discovered with a further 175 containers of diesel and 75 empty containers.

The two men, Tomas Staciukevicius and Marius Mejeris were jailed and magistrates also ordered for the vehicles and the diesel containers to be destroyed.
