Four walkers from ForgeFix have completed a five day, 105-mile coast to coast walk from Whitley Bay to Bowness-on-Solway in support of Prostate Cancer UK, as part of the company’s ongoing ‘Screw Prostate Cancer’ campaign.
Throughout the challenge at least one member of the team; Paul Simpson, James Blamire, Tim Strong and Andrew Strong, wore the now-famous golden Screw Prostate Cancer costume, drawing attention as the team passed through towns, villages and countryside, and helping to spark conversations about prostate cancer, taking the campaign’s message far beyond the walking route.
The team has been overwhelmed by the support received throughout the challenge from colleagues, customers, merchants, suppliers, tradespeople and members of the public, claiming their encouragement provided an important boost during the toughest stages of the walk and highlighted the strength of support for the campaign across the industry.
The completion of the Coast to Coast walk follows ForgeFix team members completing four marathons in four countries of the UK – in which they officially set a new Guinness World Record – as well as a host of other fundraising activities that the company hopes will see them raise £100,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
