Conex Bänninger unveils high strength copper alloy K65 fittings, designed for high pressure refrigeration applications up to 130 bar.
Developed in conjunction with Wieland, a producer of copper alloy tubing, K65 was created in response to the increased demand for CO₂ R-744 in commercial refrigeration applications, and in particular supermarkets.
As the market phases out high-GWP refrigerants, Conex Bänninger’s K65 braze system provides installers with a lightweight alternative to steel. The material is intended to be simpler to cut, faster to transport, and is available in a wide range of fittings from 3/8” to 2 5/8”.
Standard copper pipe cannot withstand 130 bar, but K65’s copper-iron alloy is engineered specifically for the demands of high-pressure CO₂ systems. With CO₂ offering zero ODP and a GWP of just one, K65 is identifiable by its slightly magnetic property and clear markings.
When professionally installed, K65 fittings are backed by a 25-year guarantee.
