Breedon celebrates rollout of Podfather

Breedon is celebrating its successful rollout of its business-wide electronic proof of delivery solution, improving customer service, accelerating cash receipts and using less paper.

The introduction of Podfather, the electronic ticketing, ePOD and route optimisation solution provider has had an integral part to play in the process, giving Breedon an effective solution capable of scaling up to meet the operational demand.

Peter Coyne, project lead continuous improvement at Breedon, said: “We knew this was a big project as we had multiple business divisions that we had to create a robust and scalable process for.

“This was a business transformation project that involved the careful consideration of many different workflows. Taking the time to get it right really paid off and we could not be happier with the results that we are seeing at this stage.”

Breedon reports that, more than 95% of jobs are processed electronically and the project team is now looking at how Podfather can work with them to optimise the ePOD functionality even further.

Rob Titley, head of IT at Breedon Group said: “This project’s success has been a testament to the dedication of both the Breedon and Podfather teams.

“By working collaboratively, we have delivered a fantastic result. To be able to ramp up our electronic ticket numbers in just a matter of weeks of the changeover shows how successful the entire team has been.”

“The Breedon project has seen us involved from the get-go in designing a solution that can work at a large scale,” added Colin McCreadie, Podfather’s managing director. “A fast ramp-up from the get-go proves just how good a solution we have delivered for Breedon, and we very much look forward to seeing how the project develops as we move into the next phase.”
