DAB Pumps urges merchants to prioritise compliance

DAB Pumps

Water management manufacturer DAB Pumps is calling on UK and Irish merchants to take a firm stand against the distribution of non-compliant circulating pumps following a series of official safety warnings and enforcement notices issued in Ireland.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Ireland issued a Product Safety Warning in October 2025, highlighting serious risks associated with certain branded circulating pumps, which were found to pose potential fire hazards, lacked proper safety certifications, and were missing key documentation such as user manuals and technical files. A further Product Safety Information Notice was released in December 2025 reiterating these concerns and urging consumers to stop using the pumps immediately.

DAB Pumps have said they support the actions of the CCPC, and condemn the sale and installation of unsafe, non-compliant circulating pumps, encouraging all stakeholders in the supply chain to carry out due diligence and verify that the products they supply or fit meet the full requirements of the Low Voltage Directive (LVD), the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive, and relevant CE marking obligations.

“Low-cost products that circumvent safety and compliance standards do not belong in our market,” says Adam Ferneyhough, country director for the UK & Ireland at DAB Pumps. “They put end users at risk and compromise the integrity of our industry. We stand behind our merchant and installer partners who continue to uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance.”

Merchants and installers are urged to remain vigilant when selecting products, especially in cases where price points appear too good to be true.
