Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Door manufacturer Masonite International Corporation has bought UK composite door company Door-Stop International.
Door-Stop customers will be able to benefit from Masonite’s knowledge, resources and experience, particularly in product development and innovation.
“The UK composite door market is an exciting place to be,” said Robin Baker, general manager for Masonite UK. “Acquiring Door-Stop and its impressive online business model places Masonite into this market and positions us for further growth.
“Not yet six years old, Door-Stop is a young company with noteworthy potential. It’s a significant addition to Masonite’s portfolio.”
Masonite manufactures interior and exterior doors for domestic and commercial markets. It employs over seven thousand people and sells to 70 countries from over 70 locations worldwide. Masonite’s UK division operates from its 400,000 ft2 factory and is a landmark for drivers on the M1 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
