NMBS beats record raised for charity

Independent builders merchant buying group NMBS celebrated its 50th trading year by collecting a record amount of money for charity at its annual pre-exhibition Gala Dinner.

John Poore, md of Poores of Acton, collected the money on behalf of industry charity the Rainy Day Trust.

“In this 50th anniversary year we have achieved a record total, raising £5269.80,” he said. “This is especially gratifying when you think about the tough times the industry has been through.” The total includes a £1,000 donation from Superglass.
