Wolseley could be back in FTSE 100

The City was speculating yesterday that builders and plumbers merchant group Wolseley could be heading back to the FTSE 100 share index.
The shares, which for the last six months have generally been no higher than £4.00, closed yesterday at £12.45.

Wolseley stock was demoted from the blue-chip FTSE 100 index at the last quarterly review. However, traders have been looking more kindly on the chain since they sold their loss-making US arm, Stock Building Supply, to a joint venture company with the Gores Group
